Forums have been lost!
Im very annoyed at the moment as i have lost the forums, they have been shut down and i have lost everything on them, i have lost the competion and the entrys, all posts and downloads that were on them etc.
They were only free forums so this time im going to raise some money and pay for them so i can have the official site logo on them etc.
Once i get the new forums I will restart the competion and get the forums set up better than ever.
Sorry for any trouble.

PSP camera and 3.00 software review
In this artical I am going to review the PSP camera and the software that came with it in the 3.00 update (I am not reviewing the UMD software, it is the software that came with 3.00)
Specifications
Name - chotto shot
Weight - 15g
Price - £30, $43, 5,000 yen
Resolution - 1.3 megapixel
Software
The software that came with the 3.00 Update is located under the Photo menu of the XMB, you must first plug the camera in to the USB socket before you can run the software.

When you start the software from the XMB the camera starts up in photo mode, the basic controls are..
- L button to look at other pictures you have taken
- Up and down buttons to zoom in or out
- R button to take photo
- Triangle to bring up the options menu
- Select takes you to movie mode
- Circle takes you back to the XMB
When you are looking at the screen to take the photo at the bottom there are details displayed about your current settings
- Where you have chosen to sace ur photos to
- What image quality you have
- Chosen picture size
- White balance option
- It also displays a sort of help thing where it tells you which buttons to press
The camera in photo mode has a X2.8 digital zoom and the pictures are saved in .jpeg format
If you press triangle a menu of options appear on the screen like in the music player, video player and picture viewer and these options for the photo mode are...

- White balance - This is where you choose what type of enviroment you take your photo in, if you wanted to take a photo in daylight you will choose the daylight option, If you are in dark places you can either have Fluorescent or Incandescent or if your not sure what to choose put it in automatic and the camera should do all the work for you
- Exposure adjustment - goes from -1.5 to + 1.5
- Effect - This chooses the type of mode you want your camera to be in you can either have sketch, toy camera, Distortion, text ot you can just have it normal
That is all the details of the software in camera mode, on to movie mode.
Video mode
When you press select or go to movie mode from photo mode the basic controls are..
- L to review taken videos
- R to record video
- Select to go back to photo mode
- Triangle to bring up the options menu
- Circle to go back to the XMB
When you are in movie mode and looking at the screen just like in photo mode it displays your settings at the bottom of the screen, it displays..
- Movie film type
- Image quality
- where you save your videos to
- how much you have recored (timer)
The camera in Movie mode has a X1.4 digital zoom and the videos are saved as motion jpeg format video and also this peice of built in software lets you record an unlimited amount of video provided that you have space on your memory stick.
Just like in photo mode if you press triangle a menu comes up like in the music player, movie player and the photo viewer, the options on this menu are...
- Record - Start Recording video
- To photo mode - Takes you to photo mode
- Review - Lets you look at videos you have taken while still on the camera

- Zoom in
- Zoom out
- Movie size - This is where you choose how big your video is you can choose from 320 X 240 (15fps), 320 X 240 (30 fps), 480 X 272 (15fps) and 480 X 272 (30fps)
- Image quality - you can choose from fine quality or standard quality
- White balance - This is where you choose what type of enviroment you take your photo in, if you wanted to take a photo in daylight you will choose the daylight option, If you are in dark places you can either have Fluorescent or Incandescent or if your not sure what to choose put it in automatic and the camera should do all the work for you
- Exposure adjustment - This goes from -1.5 to +1.5
And that about covers it for the camera and software that came with 3.00.
The only other thing i could mention is that this is something that could be added to in future firmware updates, sony could add more camera effects, more white balance options, more shutter sounds etc, something that can always be added to.

PSP117 Portal released!
I have pretty much finished Portal 117. This version includes over 35 games, 4 apps, 5 cartoons, 20 wallpapers, 2 wallpaper packs, 7 RSS channels and lots more more in the links page! This is version 0.95, which means it pretty much complete, however seeing as its so close to completion i doubt i'll make version 1, but rather go on to do version 1.xx and so on. I am very pleased with this so far, the basic portal engine is now complete, it'll be much easier to add both new pages and content in the future, and hopefully that wont be too long. In upcoming releases I am hoping to include direct download links to demos, video downloads and expand the existing pages. However this might not be for a few days as i'd like to take a break for a while.

Custom firmware on 2.81+
Hi all
I have found a way to get a custom font onto a 2.81 psp.
First of all is you have to have a 2.70 - 2.80 psp
You must first install the tiff font hack run it and istall your custom font. See my guide - http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=36130
The once you have done that update your psp to 2.81 and once updated your custom font should remain the same as it was on 2.70 - 2.80
and there you have it
this should work even as you update to 3.00 when it comes out.
But once you have updated to 2.81 DO NOT PULL YOUR MEMORY CARD OUT WHILE THE PSP IS SWITCHED ON OR YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR CUSTOM FONT!!!!!!!
enjoy!

PSP Firmware 2.71 SE version A edition
One of the scenes biggist coders dark_alex has just released 2.71 special edition.
Heres what the readme says -
This is a custom firmware that lets to have in a single flash the advantages of firmware 1.50 and
2.71 at the same time.
Homebrew can be run on both kernels, the 1.50 one and the 2.71 one, letting almost all current homebrew
to work on the 1.50 kernel, and 2.71 homebrew compatible with HEN C in the 2.71 kernel.
Note: the installer writes to FLASH0. I'm not responsable of any damage of what happens,
since this software is provided free and without warranty.
TA-082 users cannot use this because a 1.50 bootstrap is needed to boot the system patched.
At the moment, there is only installer for 1.50, although it could be easily ported to whatever
firmware with kernel access such as 2.60 and 2.71, but at the moment i prefer not to doing it to avoid
TA-082 using it and bricking their psp's.
Note that this package DOES NOT contain any illegal material. The user has to provide the 1.50 and
2.71 updaters pbp's to legally generate the DXAR file used for the flashing.

LUAReader beta
I have just started coding in C and have just made my first app in C for the psp!
Its a program that opens lua files on your psp. I have included a sample piece of code for you to test out!
Instructions
- Unzip the zip file and put the contents into the game folder on your memory stick
- To view a lua file you must rename it to index.lua and put it into the luareader folder in the game folder on your memory stick
Im afraid this is very basic at the moment, you have to rename your file to index.lua to veiw it, you can only keep one index.lua file in the luareader file at a time!
To do
- make it so that you dont have to rename the file to index.lua to veiw it
- add a file viewer so you can browse the memory card for lua files
- Add an editing system so that you can write lua on the go
Enjoy!

Enable flash player and wma playback without use of internet
I have found a way to enable the flash player and wma play back without the use of the WIFI internet.
I have edited the registery files so that that flash player and wma play back are enabled
Instructions
- unzip the file and put the contents in the root of mem stick folder into the root of your memory stick
- go to the photo folder and scroll down to the fonthack folder and press start
- once the program has started press circle and wait 30 seconds then press the home button
- you should now have flash player and wma playback enabled
- Caution - this has only been tested on 2.80, and is only for 2.70 to 2.80 because of the flash player
I have made 2 zip files, 1 for people who want or have custom fonts and 1 for people who dont have a custom font or dont want a custom font
Enable flash player and wma playback with custom font - Download
enable flash player and wma playback with no custom font - Download
